| **It has been recently discovered the taxon known as Reimarochloa oligostachya (Munro ex Bentham) Hitchcock was nested phylogenetically inside the genus Paspalum where it was subsequently transferred but assigned a nom. nov. Paspalum eglume Morrone & Zuloaga as the previous epithet (oligostachya) was unavailable. (Scatalini et al 2014). **This species was originally reported for Alabama [as Reimarochloa oligostachya] by Kral (1973) based on his Mobile County collection (Kral #37405) which is presumably located at VDB(=BRIT). Unfortuantely, the taxon was omitted from the "The Checklist" (Kral et al 2011).--BRK
